Privacy Policy

EFFECTIVE DATE: MARCH 18, 2026

At Whengram, we believe that your memories, thoughts, and personal data belong entirely to you. This Privacy Policy explains our commitment to your privacy when you use the Whengram mobile application.

1. 100% Local Storage & No Backend Servers

Whengram is an offline-first application. We do not own, operate, or maintain any databases or backend servers.

All data you input into the app — including text entries, event dates, milestones, and photos — is stored strictly and securely on your device only. We do not access, collect, read, or transmit your memories to any developer servers.

2. Information We Do NOT Collect

  • No Profile Tracking: We do not collect, process, or store your email address, profile picture, or personal identifiers on our servers (because we don't have servers).
  • No User Content Collection: We do not collect, harvest, or transmit your journal entries, memories, photos, or event schedules.
  • No Third-Party Analytics: We do not use third-party trackers, targeted advertising networks, or analytics SDKs that monitor your behavior.

3. Google Drive Backups

To ensure you never lose your data, Whengram offers an optional feature allowing you to back up your data to your own personal Google Drive.

If you choose to enable this feature, the app uses your Google account authentication strictly to transfer your backup file directly from your device to your personal Google Drive. This data never touches our servers.

You remain in total control of your backups and can delete them directly from your Google Drive at any time.

4. Device Permissions

  • Notifications: To send you scheduled reminders for your events (processed entirely locally on your device).
  • Camera / Photo Library: To allow you to attach images to your memories. These images never leave your device unless you initiate a Google Drive backup.
